Thinking Globally
Bringing the world to South Jersey

Is it expensive to host a student?

You are providing meals, a warm home, and transportation, but you will make a connection that will last a lifetime.

Students come with their own spending money, calling cards, and insurance.

All excursions and activities are paid for by CCI and Thinking Globally.

What if my student gets sick or injured?

Students come with their own medical insurance.

What if my family doesn't speak the language of the student?

Exchange students are expected to speak English.  It may be difficult at first, but students in other countries are taught to read, write, and speak English well before American students are expected to learn foreign languages.

What if my family and I know nothing about the student's country of origin?

We will provide you with a culture-gram which will explain the country's history, climate, and culture.  There's also a host family orientation meeting where we will talk about the kinds of things to expect and to avoid.

What if you return late from excursions?

We will have a calling chain in place.  If something unexpected should cause a delay, we'll start the chain right away!

What if my student gets homesick?

Their home is just a mouse-click away.  Students can email home. They will also come with calling cards to make calls to home.  With the wonders of modern technology, students will often send text messages to home throughout the day.

What if my student breaks our rules?

There is a system of warnings and discipline already in place.  Call us and we'll help you through it. Usually, this is not a problem because the kids really want to be here.

You can call us at any time 24 hours a day during the program.

We're here to help you!
